I graduated from Magna Cum Laude from Tarleton State University in 1994.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with specializations in English and Reading. I am also certified to teach PK-Kindergarten, ESL, and GT.
This will be my third year to teach 6th-8th grade ELAR here in Bluff Dale ISD. I’m excited to share my love of reading and writing with my students and to help them develop skills that will enhance their growth both academically and personally.
Prior to coming to Bluff Dale ISD, I spent the past five years in McKinney ISD teaching both 6th grade Academic ELAR and GT ELAR, as well as coaching and judging UIL academic teams/events. Throughout my career, which began in 1994, teaching has led me to several districts both large and small. There are wonderful things about teaching in each sized district, and some of the things I appreciate most about smaller districts are the lower student-to-teacher ratios and the high level of community support and involvement.
I have been married to my husband John for 33 years, and we have two children. My son Guerin is 26 and an HVAC technician, and he has a beautiful girlfrriend named Gracen; My daughter Jasa is 23 and a vet tech. We have two nineteen-year-old kitties named Lucky and Jango, and we also have two dogs. An old fella named Thorin and a puppy named Axel Lug Nut. John and I moved back to the area to live near our families.
I love to garden and listen to books. I enjoy all kinds of music and hanging out with family and friends, and I’ll never turn down a movie or game night with people I like.
