Counselor's Corner

Hello, Bobcats!  Counselor Jennifer Pair wavingMy name is Jennifer Pair and I am your school counselor.  I will also be helping Mr. Taylor and Mr. Berngen with other administrative matters.  I am so excited to be a part of the Bobcat Nation family!  Thank you for making me feel so welcome.  I am so impressed with the courteousness, respectfulness, friendliness, and good manners I have witnessed so many times.  I have met with many of our junior high and high school students individually and have been able to get into all of our pre-k through grade 5 classrooms.  I have also been in contact with all of our asynchronous learning families.  I will be doing character lessons in grades pre-k through 3 on a regular basis.  I am always available to meet with any students, parents, or teachers at any time.

I am beginning my 26th year in Education.  I have taught high school special education, 1st grade, Title I pull-out reading, 7th grade English, and have been a counselor, principal, and curriculum director.  I am very blessed to say that I truly lJennifer Pair helping...ove the career path I chose many years ago.  It is beyond rewarding to watch “my” kids grow up and mature and become productive young people and adults.  Parents, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to work with your most precious possessions, your children.

I have three grown children.  My oldest (a son) lives in Stephenville.  My other two children are girls and the middle one lives in Ft. Worth and the youngest attends Tarleton.  I love to go camping (more like glamping!) and I love to fish and work in my yard and garden.  I also enjoy boating and kayaking.  Basically, if it’s an outdoor activity, I’m all in!

I will be providing a Counselor Newsletter with every report card and will also have it posted on the counselor page of the BDISD website.  I have listed below the schedules for test and registration dates for both the SAT and the ACT.  When registering, our school code is 072-904.  Seniors, if you have not tested, you need to sign up for the next available test.  Juniors, it’s a good idea to start testing in the fall or early spring of your junior year.  Almost all students see score increases when taking either test for the second or third time.  Plan on taking your chosen test at least twice.

Jennifer Pair on staying healthy!I am looking forward to a great year here at Bluff Dale ISD!  Bluff Dale is THE place to BE!
