Let me take a moment to introduce myself to you. Some of you may be familiar with who I am, but many of you are not. So welcome to first grade!
First of all, you have to understand what teaching means to me. Since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to teach. I remember playing school more than barbies or baby dolls. I never considered anything else and I have never regretted that decision. This is the most amazing job...no other profession allows you to love, nurture and teach a child the way teaching does.
I grew up in a small town outside of Mineral Wells and attended Mineral Well ISD. After graduating high school, I attended Weatherford College and graduated from Tarleton State with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. I taught 2nd grade for Granbury ISD for two years, and then decided to be a stay at home mom after my daughter, Cara, was born.
My family and I have lived in Bluff Dale for 13 years. When we arrived in Bluff Dale, we were very excited about the little school down the road because Cara would soon be starting Kindergarten. She is now an 12th grader, Lauren is a 11th grader, and Jayden (my baby) is an 9th grader! I never dreamed that my children would attend this amazing school, or that I would have the privilege of teaching at the little school down the road. And to top it all off, I taught all three of my kids!
I have the 3 greatest kids in the world and, of course, the best husband in the world. And, in my opinion, the best job in the world!!
